About the Role
As a Principal Software Engineer, you'll be part of a multi-disciplinary team developing advanced Windows-based software solutions that support production lines for our missile systems portfolio.
This role is focused on the design, development, integration, and maintenance of software systems supporting weapon system product development and factory operations. You'll work hands-on with cutting-edge technologies and contribute across all phases of the engineering lifecycle-from early testing to post-production sustainment.

As a Principal Software Engineer, you'll be part of a multi-disciplinary team developing advanced Windows-based software solutions that support production lines for our missile systems portfolio.
This role is focused on the design, development, integration, and maintenance of software systems supporting weapon system product development and factory operations. You'll work hands-on with cutting-edge technologies and contribute across all phases of the engineering lifecycle-from early testing to post-production sustainment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop object-oriented software applications using C#, C++ in Microsoft Visual Studio on Windows OS
- Integrate and troubleshoot software with test equipment instrumentation
- Collaborate within multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Derive and document software requirements
- Lead and mentor junior engineers
- Support factory systems and weapon system product development
- Active Secret Clearance
- 8+ years of professional experience (or 5+ years with an advanced STEM degree)
- Proficiency in C++, C#, Java, Python, or Visual Basic
- Experience with Windows OS and Microsoft Visual Studio
- Familiarity with laboratory test instrumentation (e.g., oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMMs)
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of computer architecture and hardware optimization
- Experience with software drivers and hardware interfaces
- Familiarity with TCP/IP, UDP, RS-422 protocols
- Use of UML for software design
- Exposure to Agile or Waterfall development methodologies
- Experience with Azure DevOps Server or GitHub
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Bachelor's degree in: Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
- OR an Advanced STEM degree with relevant experience
