BOOST is seeking a highly skilled, dynamic, hands-on Controller Consultant to join our internal team and collaborate directly with our government contracting clients. This crucial role will be steering our clients toward success in the competitive government contracting sector!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Accounting Tasks:

  • Cultivate and enhance the role of Controller function for our esteemed client base
  • Provide integral support for Internal Controls Management
  • Collaborate on Direct and Indirect Cost Budgets
  • Monitor Indirect Rates, facilitating adjustments and Intercompany Allocations as necessary
  • Contribute to Forward and Proposal Pricing endeavors as required
  • Conduct thorough Financial Reviews
  • Conduct periodic management consultation meetings
  • Facilitate and oversee Audit Readiness initiatives
  • Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive Internal and External Accounting Policies and Procedures
  • Ensure strict compliance with FAR, DCAA, GAAP, and CAS regulations
  • Assist Budgeting, Forecasting, Benchmarking, and Cash Reporting and Management efforts
  • Assist with Incurred Cost Submission preparation
  • Review month-end closings and distribute financial reports to all clients promptly each month
  • Assist with complex reconciliations and problem-solving
  • Provide support for tax inquiries and audits conducted by third-party CPA firms
  • Conduct and support 1408 assessments and accounting ecosystem evaluations
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned

Client Account Management:

  • Offer support for business development initiatives as directed
  • Oversee performance of all client accounting activities, ensuring successful execution
  • Facilitate the seamless onboarding of new clients
  • Lead internal and client status meetings with confidence
  • Facilitate positive and productive client working relationships
  • Ensure a remarkable 95% client retention rate annually

Management Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a robust 70-80% utilization rate as Controller
  • Coordinate supporting staff and deliverables in a project management capacity
  • Provide guidance, supervision, and training for less experienced team members
  • Manage client workload for assigned clients, ensuring utilization goals are met consistently
  • Support and mentor our accounting staff in their daily responsibilities
  • Ensure excellent quality on all assigned engagements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in finance/accounting, with a focus on government contracts across various types
  • Experience in a multi-client environment is highly desirable
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Solid command of FASB and GAAP principles
  • Advanced knowledge of CAS, FAR, and DFARs regulations
  • Expertise in all accounting and financial transactions, including cost review, account reconciliation, and adjustments
  • Proactive, service-oriented approach with strong communication, project management, and leadership skills
  • Must have strong analytical thinking skills and be a self-starter
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and web-based applications
  • Experience with accounting systems such as Unanet, Quickbooks, or Deltek Costpoint; experience in multiple systems preferred
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and a keen sense of humor in a dynamic environment
  • Strong ability to plan ahead, manage multiple clients, and maintain focus while juggling priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven project management effectiveness

Salary Range: $110K-$150K (Salary commensurate with experience)
