Koniag Data Solutions, is seeking a skilled Windows Systems Administrator to support Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity operations. This role will focus on maintaining secure Windows environments while ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards and protocols. The ideal candidate will have proven experience with Windows server administration, STIG compliance, and security vulnerability management.

The Windows Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining and securing Windows server environments across Production, Development, and Test environments. Principal responsibilities include:
- Implement and validate Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for all Windows servers to ensure compliance with DoD security standards
- Remediate security vulnerabilities identified through Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts/Bulletins (IAVA/B) within required compliance timelines
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows servers including performing scheduled maintenance and reboots
- Implement OS software patches and updates
- Review server event logs for anomalies and develop corrective actions for approval by the Government Capability Delivery Manager (CDM)
- Plan and organize the architecture of Test and Development environments within the Capabilities Integration Environment (CIE)
- Install and configure server/workstation software, create scheduled tasks, and configure user groups and permissions within the CIE
- Monitor database load and interface applications to ensure successful daily operations
- Maintain separation of duties and least privilege principles for system accounts
- Document system configurations, updates, and security compliance activities
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field(or equivalent work experience)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Windows server administration
- Experience with DoD cybersecurity requirements and STIG implementation Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices in a DoD environment
- CompTIA Security+ Certification (current)
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Demonstrated experience implementing and validating STIG compliance on Windows systems
- Proficiency in remediating security vulnerabilities within compliance timelines
- Experience maintaining Windows server environments, including patching and system updates
- Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity frameworks, including DAFMAN 16-1405 requirements
- Ability to monitor system logs and identify security anomalies
- Experience configuring server architecture, including installation of server/workstation software
- Understanding of separation of duties and least privilege principles
- Familiarity with Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) processes
- Experience with user group management and permissions configuration
- Knowledge of database monitoring and interface applications
- Strong documentation and technical writing skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a secure environment
