Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to provide engineering and technical support for the Prototype, Manufacturing, and Test Department (PMTD) at NAWCAD Lakehurst. This position supports mission-critical programs including Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS), Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG), and Support Equipment (SE) systems. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining software applications used in manufacturing, testing, and data management workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
• Research, design, and develop software and network solutions to support ALRE and SE systems, subsystems, and components.
• Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
• Update, enhance, and maintain existing software applications, ensuring integration with hardware systems as needed.
• Support database management within application areas, individually or as part of a team.
• Develop and maintain applications using JQUERY, ASP.NET, VisualBasic.NET, AJAX, and MS-SQL.
• Ensure software solutions meet the IT needs of a manufacturing environment, including workflow tracking, data acquisition, and production support systems.
• Provide support for the Job Execution and Data Information (J.E.D.I.) System, including routine maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to ensure IT solutions support testing, prototyping, manufacturing, and QA processes.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science (programming) is required. A B.S. in Engineering with programming coursework is also acceptable.
• Minimum 10 years of IT experience in software development, modification of existing software, and application of commercial off-the-shelf software and hardware.
• Knowledge of network architectures and security protocols.
• Demonstrated experience in JQUERY, ASP.NET, VisualBasic.NET, AJAX, and MS-SQL.
• Experience with software systems used to manage manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with IT support requirements for manufacturing facilities, including workflow tracking, data acquisition, and reporting.
Preferred Attributes:
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience working in a government or defense contracting environment.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with engineers, QA teams, and production personnel.
