Our team supports fuel management preventative maintenance services, engineering and design, repair and installations of fuel systems for DoS Posts worldwide. Currently, we have a backlog of Preventative Maintenance & Inspections that we need assistance completing. We would like to bring on a new team member to support operations. Onsite locations include US Embassies & Consulates in countries throughout Europe, Africa, Asia, Central and South America. Trips estimated at about 5-7 days including travel to/from Post; expected at least twice per month, depending on schedule.
The Fuel Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and minor repair of fuel systems at American Embassy & Consulate locations; travel and onsite work is predominantly international.
This role includes preventative maintenance and inspections on a variety of fuel-related systems and components, including fuel pumps, storage tanks (USTs / ASTs), transfer systems, dispensers, fuel polishers, and associated control and monitoring systems or equipment. The Technician will follow all safety protocols, ensure the readiness and efficiency of the fuel management system during inspections and visits, and report on system status via a job completion report.
General duties include:
Maintenance & Inspection:
• Perform routine inspections and annual preventative maintenance on fuel system components including USTs, ASTs, day tanks, fuel pumps, dispensers, polishers, transfer systems, and control panels in accordance with the provided SOW for each Post.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer specs and operational standards.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve minor issues or discrepancies.
• Clean, calibrate, or replace critical components including level sensors, floats, valves, filters, and pressure regulators (per scope of work).
• Test and document fuel quality, system pressures, and performance.
Reporting & Documentation:
• Complete a detailed trip report after each Post visit using the provided template.
• Document maintenance activities, observations, discrepancies, parts required and include relevant photos.
• Developing a Bill of Materials (BOM) or quote, including part numbers, quantities, lead times, and pricing for any recommended parts or services.
• Maintain accurate records using the provided Preventive Maintenance checklist.
• Support logistics and shipping procedures, proposal efforts, business development and administrative tasks while demobilized.
Remote Support (primarily during periods of demobilization):
• Provide remote troubleshooting support to assigned customers within 24 hours when needed.
• Assist with corrective actions for fuel system failures under active contracts.
• Maintain strong customer service communication to support long-term client relationships and team growth.
Safety & Compliance:
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper PPE usage, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and electrical safety.
• Ensure all work complies with manufacturer instructions and site-specific safety policies.
• Promptly report safety incidents or near-misses and participate in any investigations.

**Must be a U.S. Citizen
**Required High school diploma or GED equivalent
**Required experience performing maintenance on USTs, ASTs, day tanks, and fuel systems equipment, preferably with commercial or government fuel systems/equipment.
**Required to either have a Secret/Top Secret or must be eligible to obtain one.
**Required to have a valid US passport or ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire.
**Preferred experience and comfortability with frequent international travel.
