This is a hybrid opportunity.

Koniag Data Solutions, is seeking a skilled and experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Oracle database administration with focus on managing multiple database instances, implementing security compliance, and maintaining system reliability. This position is critical to ensuring the stability and security of our database infrastructure that supports essential business operations.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
The Oracle Database Administrator will be responsible for the administration, monitoring, maintenance, and security of multiple Oracle database instances. Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Support and maintain multiple Oracle database instances, ensuring daily backups and high availability
- Implement and execute quarterly patching procedures for all database instances
- Ensure STIG compliance by applying all approved Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to the databases as they are issued
- Troubleshoot Oracle database issues and develop solutions for presentation to the Government stakeholders for approval prior to execution
- Conduct database refreshes as required by the project or system needs
- Monitor database performance and implement optimizations to ensure system reliability
- Maintain documentation of database configurations, patching history, and security implementations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database systems meet operational requirements
- Develop and test disaster recovery procedures for database environments
- Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies to prevent data loss
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 5+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator
- Demonstrated experience supporting multiple Oracle database instances simultaneously
- Experience with implementing and maintaining STIG compliance for Oracle databases
- Strong background in Oracle database patching and version management
- Experience with database backup strategies and recovery procedures
- CompTIA Security+ Certification (current)
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Active Secret Clearance
- Proven ability to support multiple Oracle database instances including daily backups and availability
- Experience implementing quarterly patching cycles for multiple database instances
- Demonstrated knowledge of STIG compliance requirements and implementation for Oracle databases
- Strong troubleshooting skills for Oracle database issues with ability to develop and present solutions
- Experience conducting database refreshes in various environments
- Proficiency in Oracle database security controls and access management
- Knowledge of Oracle backup and recovery procedures including RMAN
- Experience with Oracle high availability solutions
- Strong SQL and PL/SQL programming skills
- Ability to create and maintain comprehensive database documentation
- Experience working in government or highly regulated environments
- Strong communication skills to effectively present technical solutions to management
- Ability to support change management processes

- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership team
