Duties
Help
  • You will design/develop software solutions to support the NAVAUDSVC's technology needs to support the overall audit mission.
  • You will ensure accomplishment of required actions and provide recommendations and solutions throughout all phases of the projects.
  • You will maintain awareness of existing federal, DoD, and DON policy requirements for DOD systems against state-of-the-art technology in assigned areas of responsibility.
  • You will resolve critical issues affecting the configuration of the IT infrastructure and identify weaknesses in performance parameters.
  • You will facilitate the requirements gathering process that results in highly effective solutions that match given requirements
  • You will routinely meet with stakeholders and senior leadership to obtain pertinent knowledge of the audit process to detail internal processes that are then translated to solutions.
  • You will document code, create/update Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents, create/update technical application resources, and other supporting documentation
  • You will develop guidelines for the formulation of policy and life cycle control of information management software in such areas as operation concepts; functional analysis; interoperability analysis.
  • You will develop requirement definition survivability/vulnerability and new equipment training requirements.
  • You will coordinate classification and system acceptance tests and evaluation of developed software.
  • You will ensure the NAVAUDSVC's continuous monitoring program is administered as required and ensure that all applicable Security Implementation Guides (STIGs) are applied in accordance with policy
  • You will ensure all identified system vulnerabilities are mitigated in accordance with policy. Assists in the annual system review and reaccreditation processes for maintaining an Authority-to-Operate (ATO).

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 621-Software Developer, proficiency level Advanced.
  • The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.

  • An annual 20 hour minimum of Cyber Workforce related continuous professional development must be documented and completed in a current individual development plan signed by both the employee and supervisor.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience providing functional and/or technical support to customers to ensure validation of requirements and delivery of Information Technology capabilities.
  • Experience developing software to ensure compliance with outlined specifications.
  • Experience testing, monitoring and evaluating Information Technology technologies during design, development, procurement and/or implementation to ensure internal and external requirements are met.
  • Experience developing and maintaining technical and operational documentation to support hardware/software lifecycle (installation, operation, change and removal).
  • Experience defining the information technology specifications needed to execute tasks to support end user functional requirements.
  • Experience applying regulations, directives, and procedures to govern Information Technology Management systems.
  • Experience, knowledge, skill, and ability transforming applications and systems to utilize current technologies and methodologies to meet new business and regulatory requirements.
AND your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
  • Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail including ensuring all applicable laws, DoD, and Don information security requirements are followed and implemented throughout all software development efforts.
  • Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services including meeting with stakeholders and senior leadership to obtain pertinent knowledge of the audit process to detail internal processes that are then translated to solutions.
  • Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately including proving technical expertise in the formation of plans in order to satisfy requirements.
  • Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations including resolving critical issues affecting the configuration of the IT infrastructure and identifying weaknesses in performance parameters.
