Tyto Athene is searching for a Telephone Switch Engineer in Woodlawn, MD. The Telephone Switch Engineer provides support for the Social Security Administration (SSA) in Woodlawn, MD and maintains and performs preventative maintenance on the C20-A2 TDM/IP system. Providing primary technical interface with customer. and ancillary equipment for SSA. Provides coverage for the management of voice services to SSA and is an integral part of the Tyto service delivery team. The person awarded this position will contribute to Tyto Athene LLC's outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities:
- Direct contact with SSA management to assist with software priority requests.
- Serve as the primary contact and expert for the engineering, configuration, maintenance, and operation of the telephone system.
- Maintain the Headquarters Telephone Switch (HTS) to include fault isolation, circuit card replacement, dialing translations, transmissions, network troubleshooting, ACD design and troubleshooting Call Pilot applications and Voice Services, IVR applications and product capabilities/engineering.
- Install, terminate, and test various cables (Cat5, Coax, Fiber, etc.).
- Qualified in the testing Ethernet and Fiber Optic Cables using TDRs and EXFO meters.
- Working knowledge of basic telecom systems (Analog, PBX, VoIP, T1 circuits) install and troubleshoot cabling.
- Maintain and perform preventative maintenance on the C20-A2 hybrid system.
- Perform traffic analysis, dialing translations, and provisioning and installing all ISDN, PRI, and BRI circuits.
- Provide preventative maintenance on rectifiers, invertors, and batteries.
- Schedule and perform on-site Quality/Safety Audits to ensure installation of equipment met both corporate and customer standards.
- Work with Homeland Security to provide any Call Detail Reports.
- Assist CSO Technicians with troubleshooting cable and telephone issues.
- Perform system and software changes for CSO requests and Trouble tickets.
- Monitoring ACD (Automated Call Distribution) queue for issues and troubleshoot.
- Assist the CSO technicians in troubleshooting cable and station problems.
- Read and interpret a variety of instructions and procedures including wiring, schematics, and control diagrams.
- Working knowledge of NetPlus Telephone Management System is a plus.
- Update assigned CSO orders and trouble tickets daily in our data telephone management system and by email.
- Extensive knowledge of Wireshark and how to use.
- Act as Site Manager in their absence
- On-call duties 24 x 7, assigned schedule.
- Capable of passing an extensive background investigation to obtain Suitability for access into SSA.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the maintenance and operation of digital switching systems and shall have certificates on the MSL-100/C20-A2 TDM/IP system.

- Nortel Certified Support Specialist - CS2K VoIP Call Server is required.
- Knowledge of VoIP is required.
- VOIP Voicemail system
- Toshiba DK280 PBX and Toshiba Strategy Voice Mail is required.
- Knowledge of C20-A2 Maintenance and Administration is required.
- Knowledge of E-911 Intrado, Linux, and Cisco is required.
- Switch expert monitoring system is required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (email) & Power Point is required.
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills are required.
- Minimum of 7-10 years in related experience, as a Team Lead, or management role is required.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills is required.
- This position requires being proactive, a can-do attitude, positive personality, all around team spirit and good customer service skills.
- Professional appearance in accordance with Tyto standards
- Additional post high school training or college is a plus.

- Work hours on-site (Woodlawn, MD), no telework or hybrid schedule available
Shift:
- Shift is for Monday - Friday 9am to 6pm

Compensation:
- Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $40/hr. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
