Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Senior Space Acquisition and Strategy Subject Matter Expert (SME) position. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse and talented group of individuals committed to driving success.
As a Senior Space Acquisition and Strategy SME, you will be responsible for overseeing and providing strategic advice and execution support to the Senior Material Leader (SML), Commercial Space Office (COMSO), including the development of strategies, evaluation of commercial capabilities, funding profiles, priorities and processes to drive integration of commercial capabilities and services into USSF and other DOD service and war fighting architectures to address current, emergent and future requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Space Acquisition & Strategy SME will:
* Advise the COMSO Director and leadership team on acquisition strategy, operational priorities, resourcing, and the integration of commercial capabilities into national security space operations
* Support the integration of commercial services and capabilities into in-year funding, Program Objective Memorandum (POM), and Future Years Defense Program (FYDP) activities across multiple Program Executive Officer (PEO) mission areas
* Contribute to the development of USSF and DoD policies and strategies guiding the acquisition, sustainment, and operational integration of commercial capabilities across USSF, other Services, and Combatant Commands
* Lead problem identification and resolution on behalf of the COMSO Director; oversee execution and ensure implementation of policy and process guidance
* Craft and deliver clear, executive-level decision briefs and communication packages for senior leadership
* Monitor legislative and policy developments to shape leadership strategies and inform decision-making
* Facilitate collaboration among DoD, National Security Space (NSS), and commercial stakeholders to align strategic objectives
* Support COMSO engagements with industry, including one-on-one meetings and participation in industry events
* Develop and communicate COMSO's strategic priorities and narratives to ensure consistent messaging with internal and external stakeholders
* Ensure compliance with risk management and security protocols across all activities
Required Skills and Experience
The Senior Space Acquisition and Strategy SME must have:
* Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
* 20+ years of experience in the Department of Defense (DoD)
* 15+ years of specialized expertise in one or more of the following:
* DoD space operations at the unit, command, and joint levels, including senior-level strategy-to-task development and execution
* DoD acquisitions (including space), with proven success as a Material Leader or Senior Material Leader
* Demonstrated success in consulting, operational research, and providing executive-level insights
* Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
* Established, trusted relationships across the National Security Space (NSS) enterprise and the DoD
Education and Certifications
The Senior Space Acquisition and Strategy SME must meet the following:
* BS/BA
* MS/MA

Security Clearance
