Summary:
Audio Visual Fabricator supports in the execution of live events and provides auditorium, conference room and lecture hall equipment support in the college and across the installation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
- Perform regular troubleshooting and maintenance of AV systems in Bliss Auditorium, Lecture Halls, conference rooms, and seminar rooms within the Army War College and throughout the Carlisle Barracks.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues with AV equipment including audio, video, and control systems.
- Ensure all AV systems are operational and optimized for performance.
2. Planning and Coordination:
- Work with the customer to understand event goals and requirements.
- Develop a comprehensive plan, including timelines, content, and technical needs. - Coordinate with speakers, performers, and other participants.
3. Technical Setup:
- Set up and configure equipment, including cameras, microphones, lighting, and streaming software (if necessary).
- Conduct test runs to verify that all equipment functions correctly.
4. Execution:
- Operate equipment, live streaming software and hardware during events.
- Monitor the live stream for quality and performance, addressing any issues in realtime.
5. Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide technical support to participants and audience members before and during the event.
- Quickly resolve any technical problems that arise to ensure a smooth experience.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty to set standards. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or GED equivalent. Employee should have 2-3 years operating related AV equipment and related test equipment. College courses and certificate qualifications in electronics and AV maintenance a plus. This position requires a secret clearance.
Language Skills:
Ability to effectively communicate information and creative direction in one-on-one and small group situation to clients and other employees of the organization.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to take information from client or producer and successful support.
Computer Skills:
Business communication by email or Microsoft Teams. Operation of appropriate Audio visual and live streaming software as well as computer hardware systems. Ability to figure out non-standard systems, troubleshoot software and hardware problems.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must have valid driver’s license and ability to drive regionally as required. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Individual should be self-motivated, creative and capable of multitasking.
Other Qualifications:
Individual must demonstrate interpersonal dynamics and above average personal organization.
Physical Demands:
Ability to see/hear video and audio monitoring equipment to uphold broadcast standards. Able to lift at least 75lbs. along with being able to sit for extended periods of time.
Work Environment:
Office setting environment as well as studio production environment.
Overtime:
Occasional overtime on nights/weekends is required.
