Forward Deployed Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to support a cutting-edge aerospace technology company revolutionizing satellite operations . The Forward Deployed Engineer will be responsible for deploying and supporting mission-critical software in customer environments, building trusted relationships, and driving rapid prototyping efforts. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance .

Responsibilities of the Forward Deployed Engineer include:

• Configure and deploy software in customer environments, ensuring reliability and performance across complex workflows
• Troubleshoot issues across backend APIs, cloud infrastructure, databases, and frontend interfaces
• Travel to customer sites and embed with operations teams to build trusted technical relationships
• Rapidly prototype solutions using live customer data and iterate based on direct feedback
• Act as the voice of the customer in product discussions, translating field insights into roadmap priorities
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to convert successful prototypes into production-ready code
• Develop playbooks for repeatable integrations and maintain clear documentation and training resources

Qualifications for the Forward Deployed Engineer include:

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• on-site in DC, Los Angeles, or Denver and
• 3+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably in customer-facing or mission-critical environments
• Proficiency in Python; experience with TypeScript, Java, and React is a plus
• Experience building software with AI development tools
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Certified Kubernetes Administrator are a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Aerospace, Engineering, or a related field

Compensation for the Forward Deployed Engineer includes:

Salary: $150,000 - $175,000
