Job Description:
This position will serve as a Network Administrator supporting the U.S. Navy’s OCONUS Enterprise Network (ONE-Net) in Naples, Italy. This role requires technical knowledge in enterprise network administration, Tier II troubleshooting, and the ability to maintain secure and reliable network operations in a mission-critical environment.
Job Responsibilities:
● Review engineering documentation, provide valuable feedback, and execute tasks as directed by senior network engineers.
● Provide second level support for Local Area Network (LAN), Base Area Network (BAN), and Wide Area Network (WAN) solutions encompassing heterogeneous platforms.
● Assist information engineers in coding, testing, implementation, and documentation projects .
● Ensure network configurations are backed up regularly and properly stored.
● Monitor and troubleshoot to ensure all operating systems are functioning properly and conform to operation security policies and procedures.
● Receive and analyze network alerts from various sources within the enterprise and determine possible causes of such alerts.
● Track and document incidents from initial detection through final resolution.
● Assists with the development and application of business processes to ensure appropriate service levels.
● Ability to work with BMC Remedy IT Service Management software.
● Ticket driven Tier II functional work is emphasized.
● Daily interactions with customers, vendors, colleagues and management.
● Able to meet deliverables in a dynamic environment.
● Responsible for the application of SolarWinds updates, the integration of new network devices into the SolarWinds monitoring platform, and the implementation of directed configuration modifications as specified by the SolarWinds engineering team. This position may necessitate intermittent overnight support for liaison activities with SolarWinds technical representatives.
● Proficiency in Forescout authentication and authorization mechanisms, familiarity with MAC-address bypass configurations, and a comprehensive understanding of the Forescout console interface are required.
● Ability to work with Nexus 9k’s, 9300-9600, ASA firepower chassis, ISR 44xx, 43xx, 3850’s, 2960’s,Solarwinds, ISE, ASR 1006x, Forescout, BIG IP F5 and Azure Cloud Environment.
Experience Requirements:
● 5+ years of relevant IT experience
● Must meet TR Accreditation Requirements
Certification Requirements:
● CompTIA Security+
● Microsoft 365 Endpoint Administrator Associate
● Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Technical Representative (TR) Accreditation Requirements:
Candidates must be eligible for TR Accreditation awarded via the Defense Overseas Contractor
Personnel (DOCPER) office. Education requirements for TR approval include:
● A Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or
● An Associate's Degree plus 4 years of recent specialized experience, or
● A Major Certification plus 4 years of recent specialized experience, or
● 8 years of recent, relevant, and specialized experience
Physical Requirements:
● Requires ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at the waist
● Maximum unassisted lift = 50 lbs. Average lift less than 20 lbs
● Exposed to seasonal weather based on geographic region
● Hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm
● See details of objects that are more than a few feet away
● See differences between colors, shades, and brightness
