Job Title: System Administrator III | Exempt
Job Title for Careers Page: Senior Cyber Tool Administrator
Location: Onsite 5x/week - 2070 Chain Bridge Road in Vienna, VA, OR 1750 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC.
Clearance Level: Active DoD - Secret
SUMMARY We are seeking a Senior Cyber Tool Administrator for a potential opportunity to lead system administration of SOC tools and maintain the SOC tool enclave. This role ensures optimal system performance through log monitoring, resource management and the implementation of robust operational standards. The position requires advanced expertise in system administration, backup and recovery, troubleshooting and process automation.
The Senior Cyber Tool Administrator will also provide guidance to junior staff supporting SOC operations. This is a unique opportunity to shape the growth, development and culture of an exciting and fast-growing company in the cybersecurity market.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the administration and maintenance of SOC systems and tools, ensuring availability and security.
• Monitor system logs and resource utilization to maintain optimal performance.
• Implement and maintain operating systems and related software, including platform and patch updates.
• Establish and enforce standards for computer operations aligned with cybersecurity policies.
• Design and implement backup and recovery processes, performing recoveries when necessary.
• Troubleshoot system issues and outages, ensuring timely resolution.
• Automate monitoring, troubleshooting, deployment and maintenance tasks to increase efficiency.
• Provide direction and oversight to junior staff assisting with system administration tasks.
Education, Background, and Years of Experience
• Bachelor's degree or 3+ additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills
• 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to analyze complex requirements and translate them into clear, actionable tasks and processes through critical thinking.
• Must possess an active Secret Clearance.
• Advanced knowledge of system administration, operating systems and software maintenance.
• Experience with SOC toolsets and secure enclave environments.
• Strong background in system monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimization.
• Skilled in designing and executing backup and recovery processes.
• Ability to automate and streamline operational processes.
• Experience leading or mentoring junior staff in technical assignments.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Environmental Conditions
• Onsite 5 days a week.
• Must pass a background investigation
Strength Demands
• Sedentary - 10 lbs. Maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles. Some occasional walking or standing may be required. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
