Job Title: AGI – Close Air Support Subject Matter Expert (Advisor)

Location: To be determined (OCONUS)

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Close Air Support (CAS) Subject Matter Expert (SME) specializing in Air to Ground Integration. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of CAS operations, tactics, and procedures, and will play a critical role in enhancing our capabilities and effectiveness in joint and coalition CAS missions.

Responsibilities:

Operational Expertise:

Provide expert advice and support on CAS tactics, techniques, and procedures. Develop and refine CAS operational plans, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and strategic goals. Conduct assessments and evaluations of CAS missions to identify areas for improvement.

Training and Development:
Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs for military personnel on CAS operations. Mentor and coach partner nation military personnel, enhancing their proficiency in CAS missions. Mentor and coach military personnel, enhancing their proficiency in CAS missions. Evaluate training effectiveness and update programs as needed to ensure they meet current operational standards.

Coordination and Liaison:

Collaborate with various military units, including ground forces and aviation units, to ensure seamless integration of CAS support. Act as a liaison between aircrew and ground forces to facilitate effective communication and coordination during CAS missions. Participate in joint and multinational exercises and training events to enhance interoperability and operational readiness. Coordinate with U.S. Embassy Office of Security Cooperation (OSC) personnel and Combatant Command (COCOM) leadership to align AGI operations with strategic objectives and enhance international collaboration.

Documentation and Reporting:

Develop and maintain detailed documentation on CAS procedures, best practices, and lessons learned. Prepare and present reports on CAS operations, training outcomes, and mission effectiveness to senior leadership. Contribute to the development of doctrinal publications and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for CAS missions.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 10 years of experience in military aviation with a focus on close air support operations, Joint Terminal Attack Controller experience, Forward Air Controller (Airborne) experience. Minimum 12 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Extensive knowledge of CAS tactics, techniques and procedures in accordance with the Joint Close Air Support Publication (JP 3-09.3).
Proven experience in training and mentoring military personnel.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a joint and combined environment.
Experience in joint and coalition operations preferred.
Previous deployment experience in a CAS role preferred.
Top Secret preferred but Secret is required. The company will sponsor the right candidate for a Top Secret clearance.

Candidate must be a relationship builder in the Embassy and with leaders of foreign military forces.
This person has an understanding of geographic and cultural differences around the world and provides critical thinking to complete the missions.
