External Communities Job Description
TEKsystems Global Services is hiring two Information Systems Security Officers (ISSOs) to support cybersecurity efforts in a classified lab environment. Consultants will help implement security controls, maintain compliance, and support system authorization activities. The role involves documentation, risk assessment, and collaboration with technical teams. Active Secret clearance and relocation to Ridgecrest, CA are required.
EVP
As an ISSO with TEKsystems Global Services, you’ll support mission-critical cybersecurity efforts in advanced weapons and RDT&E labs. You’ll work alongside expert teams, contribute to national defense, and grow your career in a cleared, high-trust environment. We offer competitive pay, streamlined onboarding, and long-term opportunities in a role that values both technical excellence and team integration.
Work Environment
Consultants will be embedded within highly specialized weapons and RDT&E labs at China Lake and Point Mugu, supporting platforms such as the F-18, F-35, H-45, and T-45. The environment is mission-driven, technical, and collaborative, with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity compliance and documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Active DoD Secret Clearance (TS/SAP eligibility preferred for future needs)
Experience with classified and unclassified systems, including RDT&E, DREN, SDREN, and platform IT
Strong understanding of DoD cybersecurity policies, NIST SP 800-53, and RMF compliance
Proficiency in vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., ACAS, Nessus) and remediation coordination
Excellent technical writing skills for security documentation and audit readiness
Ability to work independently and embed within lab teams, building trust and rapport
Adaptability to different lab requirements, including dual-role ISSO/ISSM responsibilities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with sensitivity to federal ethics boundaries
Willingness to relocate to Ridgecrest, CA, and commit to long-term support
Interview Information
Two step - Phone screen with Jermaine Bracy then meeting with the Navy Customer
Business Challenge
The primary business driver is the urgent need to scale cybersecurity assurance across expanding weapons and RDT&E lab environments at China Lake and Point Mugu. Due to new mission requirements, increased compliance demands, and workforce attrition, the Cybersecurity Assurance Branch must rapidly onboard qualified ISSOs to maintain operational readiness and meet DoD security standards.
The customer impact is significant: without timely ISSO support, labs risk delays in system authorizations, vulnerability remediation, and compliance with federal mandates—potentially affecting mission-critical programs tied to national defense and electronic warfare capabilities.
