Manufacturing Project Manager
Location: Camden, NJ
Schedule: 9/80 work schedule, 7:00 AM start
Position Overview
The Transition to Manufacturing Project Manager will serve as the primary Operations leader, responsible for overseeing projects from prototype through full-scale high-speed manufacturing. This role partners closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Program Management teams to align manufacturing capabilities with program needs. The position reports directly to the Operations Division leader, with dotted-line reporting to the Program Manager.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop schedules, manage daily execution, and report status to Operations and Program leadership.
• Drive Design for Manufacturing efforts, incorporating feedback from Manufacturing and Test Engineering teams.
• Represent Operations during design reviews and customer meetings.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between Operations, Manufacturing, and Quality to address manufacturability, testability, and inspectability concerns.
• Lead operational strategy development, implementation, and success metric tracking.
• Visit manufacturing sites to evaluate best practices.
• Support manufacturing of Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs).
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of related experience, or Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience.
• In lieu of a degree, 16+ years of related experience.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Active Government SECRET Clearance or higher.
Preferred Skills
• Advanced degree in management.
• Experience with Operational Excellence methods (Lean principles, One Piece Flow, 5S+1 Visual Factory, RCA, SIOP, Gemba).
• Knowledge of ISO9001:2015, AS9100D, and QMS standards.
• Aerospace & Defense electronics and high-speed factory experience.
• Proficiency with MRP/MES systems and Earned Value Management.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, matrixed environment.
