Job Title: VMware Engineer/Consultant (Top Secret Cleared)
Location(s): Osan Air Base, South Korea; Joint-Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska
Duration: 2+ month contract
Pay Range: $80-95/hr. (negotiable based on experience)
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced professional to deploy the Omnissa Horizon environment. This role involves setting up and configuring various infrastructure and software components for a VMware Horizon virtual desktop environment across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will work with hardware, virtual networks, security, and various VMware technologies to ensure a seamless deployment of the solution, meeting all required specifications and security protocols.
Responsibilities:
• Verify existing infrastructure for compatibility with Horizon Virtual Desktops
• Configure hardware, virtual networks, subnets, and integrate security protocols
• Integrate on-premise Data Centers and manage privileged access
• Verify ESXi on UCS servers
• Configure VMware networking, storage, and clusters
• Deploy VMware vCenter Server Appliances (vCSA) and manage licenses
• Implement vSphere distributed switches, vMotion, and Active Directory integration
• Install and configure Horizon Connection Server, App Volumes, and Unified Access Gateway (UAG)
• Implement Horizon policies, Edge Gateway, and load balancing
• Integrate with Active Directory, configure certificates, and optimize security settings
• Deploy and configure App Volumes, including templates and storage
• Configure Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM) and Microsoft FSLogix
• Migrate virtual desktop base images and integrate software plugins based on best practices
• Deploy Nvidia GRID software, configure fault tolerance, and manage licenses
• Deploy and configure Nvidia VIBs on ESXi hosts for optimized graphics processing
• Conduct acceptance testing (ATP) to ensure successful implementation
• Perform knowledge transfer sessions with stakeholders to ensure understanding of the deployed system
• Document and gather sign-offs from stakeholders
• Implement the above components across multiple sites, including configuration of Cloud Pod Architecture and Global Entitlements
• Test and verify remote access, troubleshoot, and remediate issues
Qualifications:
• Proven experience with VMware Horizon, VMware vSphere, and related VMware technologies
• Strong understanding of Active Directory, App Volumes, UAG, Nvidia GRID, and Dynamic Environment Manager
• Familiarity with remote access configurations, security integrations, and infrastructure management
• Experience with virtualization, server configuration, and storage solutions
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with teams to meet deadlines
