Responsibilities :
- Processes financial documents and transactions utilizing the Unified Financial Management System (UFMS).
- Reviews accounting practices to ensure compliance with other Federal laws and regulations (e.g., Single Audit Act), generally accepted Government accounting practices, and relevant Office of Management and Budget circulars.
- Identifies corrective actions for improper or illegal expenditures and accounting funds.
- Reviews and analyzes annual financial statements to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, program policies, and procedures.
- Tracks and monitors expenditures, burn rate reports, and contract actions to ensure the Program Office adheres to the approved budget plan.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- One year of reviewing and analyzing financial statements to ensure accuracy, compliance with laws and regulations, and adherence to program policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience supporting budget execution throughout a full fiscal year cycle, including monitoring obligations, expenditures, and reallocations.
- Proven ability to prepare, analyze, and present the status of funds reports and other financial data to senior leadership for informed decision-making.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, PivotTables, data modeling, complex formulas) and strong working knowledge of the full Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
Preferred :
- Experience supporting financial management or budget operations in a federal agency or law enforcement environment.
- Familiarity with DOJ/USMS financial systems, processes, and reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of federal appropriations law, fiscal regulations, and budget execution principles.
- Experience with audit support, reconciliations, or internal controls to ensure financial integrity.
