DevSecOps/Site Reliability Engineer

Role: Site Reliability Engineer

Client: Defense-Aerospace

Pay Rate: up to $97/hr (W2, non-benefited)

Length: 1-year contract

Location: Tysons Corner, VA

Clearance: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at the time of hire.

Description:

• Provide technical analyses and define how the system works creating use cases
• Decompose requirements, define system interfaces and help determine how requirements will be validated and verified by the test team
• Provide engineering support for the execution of a portion of the programs test program including test processes and baseline definition, test architecture design, verification, and validation
• Support regression testing across deliverable releases to the program baseline.
• Support and attend technical reviews and technical interchanges in support of the program

Required Skills & Experience:

• Requires minimum 5 years of platform engineering / support experience to include:
  1. Three (3) years of experience developing and operating containerized services deployed in production on orchestration platforms such as Cloud Foundry or Kubernetes.
  2. Building developer platform services and APIs that scale in production.
  3. Building and sustaining production services using Cloud Infrastructure Providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure.
  4. Designing or administering Identity and Access Lifecycle Management Operations and controls.
  5. Building and maintaining continuous delivery pipelines.
• Requires prior experience working in a collaborative environment requiring frequent teaming and written / verbal communication with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience managing, reporting, and facilitating certification of access for all in-scope resources (including SaaS, AWS, Azure, CSS managed applications, tools, and systems).

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Prior experience deploying Platform as a Service (PaaS).
• Automating platform management at enterprise scale.
• Highly motivated with the ability to provide creative solutions to complex problems.
• Experience developing platform APIs that make common software operations scalable and repeatable.
• Experience building continuous delivery and integration (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Experience responding to software outages and executing post mortem reviews including root cause analyses.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps concepts.
• Proficiency in scripting via bash, python and/or Powershell.
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance.

Required Education and Experience:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
