Overview of position:

FEDITC is seeking an experienced Energy Auditor to support Air Force Civil Engineer Center’s Office of Energy Assurance (AF OEA) in tracking and coordinating installation-level energy audits to comply with federal mandates, including Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA) 432 and DAFI 90-1701, Installation Energy and Water Management. This role focuses on identifying audit gaps, assisting with enterprise audit planning and scheduling, and maintaining accurate audit data in government systems such as Compliance Tracking System (CTS) and NexGen IT. The analyst will help AF OEA monitor compliance trends, identify barriers, and recommend process improvements, but is not expected at this time to conduct audits directly.

This position is based in Panama City, FL.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Identify and track audit gaps across the Air Force using CTS and NexGen IT data
Support development and maintenance of enterprise-wide audit schedules in coordination with AF OEA and installations
Assist with intake and quality control of submitted audit documentation for completeness and accuracy
Coordinate with AF OEA, MAJCOMs, and installation energy managers to verify audit status and upcoming needs
Prepare summary reports and briefing materials on audit compliance status and trends
Recommend process improvements to streamline tracking, prioritization, and execution of energy audits
Support the development of training materials and job aids related to audit compliance tracking and reporting
Assist with responses to data calls, Congressional reports, and internal Air Force leadership requests related to energy audit compliance
Ability and willingness to travel as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, energy management, facilities management, or a related discipline

Certification:

Active Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) certification from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) is highly preferred.

Experience:

At least five (5) years of experience performing ASHRAE Level II/III energy audits, with at least three (3) years of experience under federal programs
Familiarity with federal energy mandates, including EISA 432 and Air Force energy audit policy
Experience tracking audit status and data in systems like CTS, NexGen IT, or similar platforms
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other data tracking/reporting tools

Clearance:

U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret security clearance is required, with the ability to maintain clearance at the required level.
Candidates without an active clearance may be considered on a case-by-case basis; however, any offer will be strictly contingent upon the government’s approval of an interim Secret clearance. Candidates cannot begin employment until interim clearance approval is granted.
