Systems Administrator II (C4ISR)

GDIT is seeking qualified candidates for Mission Training Complex Capabilities Support II (MTCCS II) program. GDIT delivers individual sustainment through collective Mission Command training, Leadership Training / Development, Warfighter Functions (WFF) training, Delta Training, First Person Simulations (Gaming), and constructive simulations supported training. Technical integration between simulation and C4I systems. Establish /maintain training and exercise networks. Accomplish Risk Management Framework Certification and Accreditation security and risk management activities.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

• Monitor and maintain the health and performance of C4ISR systems
• Working as a Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC)/ Multi-Resolution Federations (MRF) simulation operator.
• Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues
• Deploy, configure and troubleshoot network devices (to include cabling) for exercises, training events and/or special projects
• Configure and optimize systems to meet operational requirements
• Integrate, install, operate, maintain and system administration of various C4ISR components including MCIS, other systems as identified and systems in a LVC environment
• Collaborate with other branches to ensure system compatibility and interoperability
• Implement and manage security policies and configurations
• Maintain documentation for system configurations and changes
• Configure and optimize systems to meet operational requirements

• Provides input to staff involved in writing and updating technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials
• Prepares reports on analyses, findings, and project progress, and presents results to management and/or customer personnel
• Serves as a customer interface to resolve problems and ensure requirements are met on a timely basis
• Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced system administrator
• May serve as a technical team or task leader
• Follows DoD Directives and Instructions 8140, 8570-01-M, Army regulations AR 25-2, NIST Special Publications 800-53, 800-39, as well as following guidance from other cyber agencies in USARPAC CSPMO, and NETCOM
• Participates in special projects as required

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Education: BA/BS (in computer science, information systems, engineering, systems administration or related field with concentration in computer-based technology); or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training
• Experience: 5+ years of related experience; Military and MTC experience preferred
• Required Technical skills:
  • Technical expertise in C4ISR systems and related technologies; Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and security practices;
  • Experienced in configuring and maintaining networking hardware/software systems to include routers, switches, firewalls, VoIPs and SharePoints;
  • Understanding of database management systems (DBMS) and experience with SQL and NoSQL
• Certification: DoD 8140 & 8570 IAM I (Security+ CE) Compliant Certification
• Security Clearance: Secret Clearance required to start
• US Citizenship Required
• Role requirements:
  • Expert knowledge in MCIS Platform. Expert knowledge in System Administration
  • Superb communication skills;
  • Configure, document, test, troubleshoot, create, and/ or modify computer documentation related to Linux based simulation systems, to include MS Windows 11, MS Windows Servers, VMWare and Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation Server/ Bridges for training exercisesStrong ability to advise and educate leadership through non-technical terms on C4ISR systems; Ability to document and report on technical issues and solutions;
  • Ability to resolve complex technical issues
