At 540, we're looking for a DevOps Engineer who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and support critical systems for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Open to both Full Time and 1099 Employment.
As part of an Agile team, you'll design and implement secure, scalable solutions that help millions of applicants navigate the citizenship and visa process. From architecture and development to security and operations, your work will ensure data flows seamlessly and systems stay running smoothly.

Location: Remote friendly within the continental United States
Citizenship & Clearance Requirement: per client requirements, must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust clearance
Education Requirement: Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
4+ years of professional experience
3+ years of experience creating/maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Cloudbees and/or Harness
3+ years of experience with containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm Charts)
In-depth knowledge of DevOps best practices
Software development experience with Java and/or Groovy
Experience with AWS (ECS, RDS, etc.)
Experience with Ansible for automating infrastructure deployment, configuration management and system orchestration
Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
Experience with Git and the Gitflow development workflow
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

Background with Java / Spring development
Experience with tools like Splunk & New Relic for monitoring & logging
CompTIA Security+ and/or Linux+ certifications
