Job Description
As a Security Officer - Access Control - FT in Saint Paul, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities and more .
As a Security Professional with Allied Universal assigned to a critical utilities location, you will focus on access control responsibilities to help create a secure environment for personnel and visitors. Your role will involve monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials, and conducting routine patrols of designated areas to help deter potential security-related incidents. You will serve as a visible presence, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while addressing inquiries and assisting with badge access as needed. What You'll Do:
- Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
- Assist with access control procedures at utility locations, verifying credentials and monitoring entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access.
- Provide customer service by greeting visitors, answering questions, and addressing concerns in a professional manner.
- Carry out security-related procedures and follow site-specific policies as directed by Allied Universal and the client site.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to help to deter potential security-related incidents. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
- Support emergency response activities as needed, including assisting with evacuations and/or providing information to emergency personnel.
What We're Looking For:
- Availability across various days and shifts
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
- Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available
Minimum Requirements:
- A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- A valid guard card or security license is preferred.
- CPR certification and/or first aid certification is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 plus years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
