What you'll do
This role supports the Viasat Corporate Security Operations team's mandate to keep our people, assets and business safe. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in the protective intelligence or global resilience domain with knowledge, skills and abilities in the areas of global risk monitoring, critical event management, protective intelligence operations (threat management and investigations) and secure area compliance in support of US government contracts. The candidate should also be proficient in the use of physical security access management tools, travel risk, event security and executive security support.
The Physical Security Risk Analyst plays a direct support role in the operational decision-making process, responsible for the collection and interpretation of multi-source data in support of corporate business operations. The Risk Analyst will be responsible for monitoring the safety and security of employees, facilities and property worldwide. Using an assortment of tools that range from global access control and alarm monitoring systems to various business intelligence sources, open-source media and in-house proprietary resources, the Risk Analyst is required to detect, assess exposure and alert stakeholders on any adverse conditions potentially affecting the business and its employees.

Salary range
$19.95 - $31.49 / hourly. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $24.76 - $37.26/ hourly

The day-to-day
- Identify physical risks which may impact Viasat by correlating data from various sources to complete a comprehensive and persistent understanding of our corporate space. Develop detection triggers / indicators and thresholds for reporting security and facility risks to leadership.
- Monitor and respond to global alerts and events affecting company facilities and employees.
Support a resilient organization by coordinating closely with other technical, incident management, and analyst professionals to develop a fuller understanding of the most likely and most impactful physical risks to the workplace. - Directly support protective intelligence requirements.
- Develop methodologies to effectively coordinate and communicate information to employees through mass communications tools.
- Mature the organization's incident management protocols and methodologies.
- Monitor and report regularly on global travel risks. Act as initial point of contact to support employee travelers' needs.
- Foster cross organizational relationships to encourage risk information sharing across the business. Generate insightful feedback to the business to improve the safety and security of Viasat's operating environment.
What you'll need
- Proven ability to convey analytical and critical thinking skills in written products and data visualizations
- Strong technical competence with risk intelligence software, mass communications tools, Open-Source Intelligence methodologies, third party proprietary research tools, Command Center software, particularly video management, access control and incident reporting
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multi-task in a dynamic work environment and manage competing priorities.
- Previous experience working in a Global Security Operations Center, Facilities Operations Center or other military operations center.
- This role must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays based on operational requirements
- High level organizational skills and experience with JIRA, ServiceNow, SharePoint, Confluence, Monday.com or other organizational management tools
- US Citizenship Required
- Must be able to obtain a US Secrete Clearance

- Familiarization of commercially available security analysis, global monitoring and mass communications tools
- Bachelor's Degree in Global Security Studies, International Affairs, Business, Emergency Management, Political Science, Criminal Justice, or related field. Comparable military experience considered.
