Logistics Analyst IV

Location: Fort Walton Beach, FL

Minimum Clearance Required: Secret

Travel: Ability to travel up to 40/50%

As a Logistics Analyst IV, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing air terminal operations, including information control, ramp coordination, passenger services, air freight operations, load planning, and in-transit visibility (ITV). Additionally, you will serve as the Air Terminal Operations Center (ATOC) focal point, exercising command and control over air transportation work centers in support of global mobility missions.

Who You Are and What You Need:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some positions may require an associate or bachelor's degree in logistics, aviation management, or a related field.
  • Completion of military technical training in Air Terminal Operations, Air Transportation, or Logistics is typically required.
  • Hazardous materials certification.
  • Air Transportation or Air Terminal Operations certifications (military or civilian equivalent).
  • Practical experience in air terminal operations, air transportation, cargo handling, passenger processing, or logistics coordination.
  • Experience in load planning, airlift scheduling, and hazardous materials certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience in supervising or directing teams in a fast-paced or mission-critical environment.
  • Knowledge of Defense Transportation System (DTS) and Air Mobility Command (AMC) procedures.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in operational data collection, analysis, and dissemination.
  • Knowledge of customs, border clearance, and diplomatic clearance procedures.
  • Understanding of aircraft load planning, weight and balance, and airworthiness requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and ensure safety compliance.


What You Will Do:
  • Collect, analyze, and disseminate operational data to command and control agencies, higher headquarters, and partner organizations. Maintain mission records, forecast airlift schedules, and ensure timely reporting of mission activity.
  • Coordinate mission requirements with units, users, and agencies. Obtain diplomatic clearances, explosive port-to-port approvals, and ensure compliance with border clearance and customs regulations.
  • Prepare and validate aircraft load plans, weight and balance data, and cargo manifests. Select, sequences, and configure cargo and passengers to maximize payload utilization, ensure airworthiness, and comply with safety regulations and aircraft limitations.
  • Prepare, review, and validate movement documentation, including manifests, load plans, and hazardous cargo certifications. Ensure accuracy of DD Form 302 series and related records for accountability.
  • Direct ramp operations, briefs aircrews on payload details, and reallocate personnel and equipment to prevent mission delays and ensure safety of flight.
  • Conduct joint inspections (JI) of deploying unit cargo and equipment; certify hazardous materials; and provide training to DoD personnel on proper preparation and documentation of shipments.
  • Oversee passenger processing operations, to include validation of travel documentation, baggage handling, and accountability of special category passengers.
  • Manage the receipt, inspection, build-up, and breakdown of cargo, ensuring compliance with regulations, aircraft limitations, and airworthiness requirements.
  • Advise leadership on transportation capabilities, limitations, and mission impacts. Provide subject matter expertise on hub-and-spoke operations, Defense Transportation System integration, and airlift mission planning.
