Program Overview

Comprised of social scientists, PhD-level researchers, and data scientists that bring a multidisciplinary approach to solving challenging applied research questions, this program sustains research to shape the face of personnel security and suitability for the DoD, IC, and federal goverment at large.

About The Role

Peraton is seeking to hire Sr Associate Behavioral Research Scientist.

Location: Full remote.

Overview:

Peraton is seeking an Sr Associate Behavioral Research Scientist to join our team of qualified, diverse professionals supporting the Department of Defense. This role contributes to innovative research across the Military Services, focusing on areas such as:
  • Service member and dependent wellness.
  • Suitability for Military Service.
  • Evaluation of behavioral interventions.
  • Implementation and assessment of automated solutions for staffing, manning, and training development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct applied behavioral science research using established methodologies and technologies.
  • Code and analyze text data with precision and accuracy.
  • Perform literature reviews and collect field data via interviews and focus groups.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure quality and timely delivery of research products.
  • Interface with Military stakeholders to support implementation of findings and solutions.
Contribute to a range of Federal behavioral science initiatives, including:
  • Research design development
  • Training content creation
  • Survey administration and focus group facilitation
  • Data cleaning, transformation, and analysis
  • Statistical and qualitative research
  • Technical report writing and briefing preparation
  • Coordination with virtual research teams
Current Research Areas:
  • Personnel Security Clearances
  • Personnel Placement and Suitability
  • Suicide Prevention
  • Sexual Assault Prevention & Response
  • Espionage and Insider Threat

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Degree in Behavioral Science (e.g., Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice) and 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated strong client communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a behavioral science discipline.
  • Experience conducting applied social or behavioral science research.
  • Active Secret security clearance.

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
