The Multi-Domain Solutions division at Leidos is seeking a System Furniture Technician to be based on site with our Intel Community customer. This customer-facing position, requiring constant communication and professionalism, will be responsible for preparing new spaces, such as office space renovations, including the breakdown and removal of existing materials such as furniture, carpeting, fixtures; lifting and transporting materials; accurate assembly of various pre-fabricated furniture items; and general interior construction including drywall installations, painting, carpeting, and electrical. This role ensures furniture is assembled according to manufacturer specifications, that each modification meets specifications, meets safety standards, and is properly installed and maintained to support a productive and functional work environment.

Primary Responsibilities: What you’ll be doing!
- Receive, unpack, and inventory furniture deliveries, verifying item counts and inspecting for damages.
- Read and interpret assembly instructions, diagrams, and schematics to assemble furniture items correctly.
- Assemble furniture including desks, chairs, tables, cabinets, shelving, and other related items according to specifications.
- Utilize hand and power tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, levels) to assemble furniture securely and efficiently.
- Ensure proper alignment, stability, and functionality of assembled furniture.
- Install furniture in designated locations within government facilities, including securing items to walls or floors as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of packaging materials.
- Report any damages, shortages, or discrepancies to the supervisor promptly.
- Perform minor repairs and adjustments to existing furniture, as needed.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain accurate records of assembly tasks, including time spent and materials used.
- Assist with the relocation and rearrangement of furniture within facilities.
- May be required to operate a forklift or other material handling equipment (training provided).
- Coordinate with other facilities staff and contractors as needed.
- Other facility duties may be assigned by the Enterprise Supply Chain Manager as needed.
Basic Qualifications: What You’ll Need
- Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI with CI Poly
- US Citizenship
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in furniture assembly, preferably in a commercial or institutional setting (minimum 1 year).
- Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions and diagrams; understand basic blueprints/concept drawings
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift 35 lbs and perform physical tasks requiring bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Valid driver's license may be required.
