Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO). In this role, the candidate will conduct and oversee feasibility studies, military utility analyses, and engineering activities for current and emerging SCO projects. This position will focus primarily on designing, developing, and testing innovative hypersonic weapon concepts while ensuring alignment with military service needs and mission objectives.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare statements of work (SOWs) and other acquisition-related documentation for tasks performed by technical performers.
- Manage the complete lifecycle of acquisition and contracting efforts, including activities ranging from Request for Proposal (RFP) development to contract closeout.
- Assist in developing program budgets and perform cost estimation for specific project activities.
- Perform administrative duties such as maintaining action item trackers, submitting funding request documents, managing team calendars, scheduling meetings, coordinating senior leader engagements, and preparing briefing materials.
- Lead efforts in concept of operations (CONOPs) development and requirements engineering for prototype systems.
- Maintain risk trackers and burndown charts to monitor program progress and mitigate risks effectively.
- Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of test and evaluation (T&E) events.
- Support the planning, execution, and oversight of modeling and simulation efforts to refine and validate operational concepts.
- Apply knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition processes, testing standards, and requirements to ensure program compliance and success.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in a STEM field, or equivalent technical work experience within organizations such as the Department of Defense (DoD), NASA, NOAA, or NNSA (civilian or uniformed).
- A degree or experience specializing in Aerospace Engineering or Systems Engineering within an aerospace context is highly desired.
- Prior experience working in a program office for DoD, NASA, NOAA, or NNSA is preferred.
- Must be eligible for TS/SCI clearance.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a related technical or engineering field.
