Telecommunication Technician –Senior:
Location: INDOPACOM HQ, Camp Smith, Aiea, Hawaii
Clearance: TS/SCI Required (will sponsor SCI upgrade for active TS candidates)
Telecommunication Modernization
Job Notes:
• Works on telecommunication projects of varying size, scope, complexity, and location and supports preliminary development of the EIP
• Participates and/or attends site surveys and documents current site ISP/OSP configurations
• Supports the design and optimization of the supporting infrastructure in support of the EIP.
• Develops System Design Plans (SDP) and Final Engineering Implementation Plans (EIP)
• Performs circuit testing for voltage, amperage, continuity and safety after installation and adjust as needed.
• Understands and follows all applicable standards (the National Electric Code).
• Directs and leads development of engineering implementation plans and project drawings of IAW Government and industry standards.
• Performs quality checks and supports safe work environments.
• Installs and inspects grounding.
• Identifies and resolves complex project problems to reduce project and program risks.
• Supervises lower-level ISP/OSP Engineers or subcontractors.
Oversee infrastructure deployment teams and assist install of telephone, coaxial, and fiber optic cables, including vertical and horizontal cable pairs to the desktop.
Execute inventories against Ship Documents
Unloading/movement of materials and equipment across a job site
Perform installation of equipment/cables, system testing and evaluation activities.
Inspects and reviews hardware installation, wiring, power, grounding, system database validation, and other activities to ensure quality installation of services.
Performs de-installation, and relocation activities including, but not limited to, site preparation and installation and/or removal of cabling and wiring systems, terminal equipment, automated data processing services, hardware and software.
Provide detailed post installation infrastructure diagrams and reports
Knowledge of Excel and Word
Required Skills, Certification, Experience, and Education: Individual should have experience with installation of network cabling infrastructure and leadership of small teams. CAT5e, CAT6, fiber cables and termination. Fusion splicer and Unicam kits.
Desired: BICSI certification and Fluke test devices (voice and network).
