Overview
Join a mission-critical team supporting USSTRATCOM, a Combatant Command responsible for strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, and enterprise IT services vital to national security. As a Solutions Architect – MBSE, you’ll provide architecture and engineering support to the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC), focusing on cybersecurity, application layer design, and enterprise IT modernization.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver systems engineering and architectural planning for AFNWC.
Review and enhance existing architectures; design and implement improvements.
Collaborate with O&M personnel to support strategic IT projects.
Focus on cybersecurity and application layer design within enterprise environments.
Support IT services across NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, and SAP/SAR networks.
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering or architecture.
Expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
Collaboration Services & Business Applications (e.g., CRM, integration)
Cybersecurity & RMF (e.g., PKI, certificate authority)
Enterprise Infrastructure (e.g., VDI, Active Directory, DNS)
Networking (e.g., LAN/WAN, VoIP, wireless)
Storage & Mobility (e.g., SAN, NAS, iSCSI, DAS)
Cloud & Virtualization (e.g., containerization, cloud platforms)
Desired Skills
Proficiency in system modeling using OMG frameworks: UML, SysML, DoDAF 2.0/UPDM, UAF.
Experience with modeling tools (e.g., Cameo Enterprise Architect).
Ability to model systems from multiple perspectives (capability, operational, functional).
Familiarity with executable models (fUML preferred).
Ability to extend UML-based models via APIs or frameworks.
Strong analytical and stakeholder engagement skills.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (BA/BS required).
DoD 8140 certification required.
Must obtain ITIL 4 Foundation – ITSM within 9 months of hire.
Preferred Certifications (not required):
OCSMP (OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional)
CSEP (Certified Systems Engineering Professional)
TOGAF Certified Architect
ITIL 4 Managing Professional
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
CCNP, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Azure Network Engineer Associate
