Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Manager Research Development 2 to be based in Falls Church, VA or Redondo Beach, CA or San Diego, CA.
Roles and Responsibilities: This individual will draw from their technical and project management experience to identify opportunities, analyze emerging requirements, and create new advanced aircraft projects spanning broad domains and customers. Working with supporting organizations, the individual will lead the standup and execution of these projects with a strong emphasis on technical management, integrating advanced technologies within a model-based system engineering environment.

Primary Level Salary Range: $156,500.00 - $234,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical engineering and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience which may include engineering internships
- Strong technical understanding of and experience with aircraft advanced design, including advanced aircraft concepts, payloads, subsystems, and enabling technologies
- Strong understanding of and experience with requirements definition and management using model-based system engineering tools and methods
- Strong technical leadership experience and skills in research and development projects
- Demonstrated competency in program management, managing technical, cost, and schedule while achieving program objectives
- Experience developing program plans, including requirements analysis, strategic and technology roadmaps, and acquisition frameworks
- Excellent written and oral technical communication skills
- Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) within a reasonable time as determined by business needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI polygraph
- Completion of professional development coursework in Leadership and Project Management
- One or more United States Government certifications in Program Management
- Experience managing United States Government programs
- Experience working with multiple United States Government agencies and contractors
- Experience with unmanned systems, including integration of payloads, planning and execution of flight test activities, and flight operations support
- Experience working Special Access Programs
