Northrop Grumman Space Systems-Launch and Missile Defense Systems presents an excellent opportunity for a Principal Systems Software Analyst-Verification Test Execution Lead (25-472) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. This position, based in Colorado Springs, CO, or Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO, plays a crucial role in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.
This position does not offer relocation assistance and requires working on-site with no remote option available.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a vital part of the Missile Defense System. It provides a key operational platform that allows the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to plan missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC offers a layered missile defense capability, providing an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It functions as a force multiplier by connecting, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both worldwide and locally to improve overall performance. Additionally, C2BMC is an essential component of all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the missile defense system's current and future capabilities.
In this role, you will be involved in the process from the start of development through testing, deployment, and operations. The Verification Test Execution Lead will carry out test tasks according to program procedures, assist the Verification Test Lead with resource planning, support the Engineering Review Boards as needed, and assist with Task Order and customer reviews, metrics collection, and analysis. This position requires daily technical and programmatic interactions with civilian, military, contract leadership, and technical personnel at MDIOC and Highway 83 Offices. You will also join the ST (System Test) CFPT (Cross Functional Product Team), working closely with the Verification Test Lead for the C2BMC National Team and the Test Bed Lab Manager. The selected candidate will be expected to travel as needed, but most work will be conducted at the Colorado Springs facility with frequent travel to Schriever SFB.

Primary Level Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. Essential Functions:
- Monitoring delivery from release creation through testing in the Test & Integration Lab (TIL) and the C2BMC (Command & Control, Battle Management, and Communications) Test Bed, developing and executing test procedures, and reporting test findings to the deployment team
- Collaborating with key partners during test lab build-out design meetings, reviewing and helping resolve test technical issues, and coordinating with technical leads and product owners to perform installations aligned with Task Order baselines
- Duties and tasks include:
- Engaging the C2BMC system for technical support to Agile Product Teams to conduct software and system-level verification and validation testing
- Leading the execution of a Test Plan for a given capability
- Reviewing and providing technical feedback on the Detailed Test and Analysis Procedures
- Will focus on the following tasks:
- Manage the Verification Items Approval and Failure Status
- Provide EE/Proposals support for Verification and PR resolutions
- Training for security duties, resident Air Force and MDA training at the MDIOC Facility, and other responsibilities required of contractor personnel on a military installation
- Daily use of computers with Windows, MS Office, or Linux
- Experienced in assisting test engineers with troubleshooting and analyzing test-bed configurations related to hardware, software, and Information Assurance issues or functionalities
- Providing status updates to senior leadership audiences
- Ability to piece together dashboards and customize views for tracked metric reporting
- Must be familiar with the Systems Engineering lifecycle
- Must be familiar with JIRA/HIVE and standard Agile practices
- Ownership of the JIRA/HIVE projects related to the Verification Team
Basic Qualifications:

- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master's degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
- Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% to support business needs
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in:
- Software
- Cyber & network verification and validation processes and techniques
- Test reporting
- Regression testing
- Test data analysis
- Must be familiar with testbed and lab baseline concepts for testing software, network, and Cyber IA applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Agile Test-Driven Development
- Knowledge of integrating and testing Command & Control systems, with an emphasis on basic architecture used in the BMDS environment, focusing on C2BMC, including external C2BMC element interfaces
- Experience with DOORS, JIRA, and Confluence
- Prior experience with C2BMC
- Ability to act as a focal point for coordinating Verification Team projects and efforts
- Scrum Master experience is preferred
