Precise Systems seeks an experienced Electronics Technician V to join our Precise Systems team supporting Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme Division's (NSWC PHD) Weapon Systems Integration (WSI) contract. This part-time position is based at Yorktown, VA and requires 20-30 hours per week in support of STANDARD Missile (SM) / Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile (ESSM) / Tomahawk AUR In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) tasking. This part time position is also a hybrid position, executing the work remotely from home and on-site at Naval Weapon Station Yorktown. This role is critical in ensuring VLS ordnance safety, efficient ordnance data-blocked events & offloads, and Integrated Logistics Supportability activities with AUR and VLS program objectives to sustain fleet readiness and increase combat system capabilities.

Duties:
  • Providing shipboard expertise and training for MK 41 VLS data-blocked events and offloads, including ship pre-arrival conferences and Ship's Force ordnance briefings
  • Inventory management of VLS PHS&T, MK 165 and MK 170 Sill Assembly, Canister Adapters, and other auxiliary ordnance handling equipment
  • Providing engineering investigations support for missile failures, ordnance mishaps, and fleet ordnance related issues
  • Supporting Fleet Symposiums & Conferences, Program and Financial Reviews, Combat Systems Assessment Team (CSAT) Inspections and Shipboard Launcher Grooms

Required Experience:
  • At least two years of naval missile ordnance related experience with a Bachelor's degree, or eight years with a High School Diploma. Experience related to the Receipt, Segregation, Storage, and Issue (RSSI) of naval missile ordnance, shipboard missile data-blocked event/offload, missile new production & assembly, missile fleet return processing, upgrade, and testing, ordnance inventory management, shipboard ordnance briefings, and missile failure investigations & ordnance mishap investigations.

Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Expertise (knowledge, skills, and abilities) with missile ordnance, pertaining to NAVSEA OP 4/OP 5 (Ammunition and Explosives Safety Afloat/Ashore)
  • Basics of Naval Explosives Safety (NOSSA AMMO-18) and DoN Standard Operating Procedures Development, Implementation, and Maintenance for Ammunition and Explosives (NAVSEAINSTR 8023)
  • Ammunition and Explosives Personnel Qualification and Certification Program (NAVSEAINSTR 8020)
  • Problem-solving skills in identifying problems, developing solutions, and implementing fixes; breaking down complex issues into smaller, manageable parts and finding creative solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders, present findings, and facilitate technical discussion and collaboration
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, Teams)

Required Education:
  • High School Diploma and a minimum of eight years of required work experience, or Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of two years of required work experience

This position is covered by the Service Contract Labor Standard under a Wage Determination. As such Under the SCA selected candidates are entitled to both the hourly rate aforementioned and a health and welfare benefit. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
