Job Description:
• Overview: We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the modernization of a large-scale enterprise data platform using Amazon Web Services (AWS) native services. This role will oversee technical, security, and program management requirements, providing leadership across a multi-disciplinary team while ensuring compliance with federal standards.
• Program Leadership & Oversight:
◦ Lead and manage the overall modernization effort.
◦ Oversee project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics.
◦ Serve as the primary point of accountability for client stakeholders.
◦ Coordinate work across technical teams, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure progress and alignment with program goals.
• AWS Platform Modernization:
◦ Direct the design, deployment, and integration of AWS services, including Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, Kinesis, S3, DynamoDB, Data Pipeline, and Data Exchange.
◦ Ensure technical approaches align with program objectives and best practices.
◦ Oversee platform migration, configuration management, and continuous monitoring in line with NIST SP 800-53 guidelines.
• Compliance & Security:
◦ Ensure adherence to federal IT security standards (FISMA, Privacy Act).
◦ Oversee incident response and resolution within required timelines.
◦ Ensure contractor personnel follow NDAs and properly handle sensitive PII.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
◦ Act as the primary liaison with client stakeholders.
◦ Provide regular project updates and reports.
◦ Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve conflicts.
• Quality & Deliverables Management:
◦ Ensure all deliverables meet performance standards and deadlines.
◦ Develop and implement a Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP).
◦ Drive corrective actions when issues arise.
◦ Maintain high standards of accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Qualifications (Must Haves):
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: 5+ years managing federal IT modernization projects, with a strong track record of delivering complex cloud and data platform initiatives.
• Certifications
◦ Required:
▪ Project Management (e.g., PMP, CAPM, PgMP, CompTIA Project+, etc.)
◦ Nice to Have:
▪ Agile (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster, SAFe Agilist, or equivalent)
▪ AWS (e.g., Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional, Cloud Practitioner, Database Specialty, DevOps Engineer, etc.)
• Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience leading AWS cloud implementations and modernizing large-scale data platforms.
• Leadership: Proven ability to direct and motivate multi-disciplinary teams in Agile or hybrid environments.
• Clearance: Active Public Trust clearance required
