Job Title: Principal Engineer (2 Positions Available)
Duration: ONE (1) YEAR WITH THE OPTION TO EXTEND FOR TWO (2) ADDITIONAL ONE (1) YEAR OPTION YEARS
Location: Aiken, SC (Onsite - Local candidates or willing to relocate at candidate's expense)
Short Summary about Job:
Seeking two (2) Principal Engineers to provide electrical engineering design support for nuclear and chemical process industry projects. This position requires extensive field work including weekly walk-downs of job sites, construction areas with uneven surfaces, ladder climbing, and work in protective clothing environments that may require respirator use. The role involves generating electrical system calculations using specialized software and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. degree in applicable science or engineering discipline and 5+ years' experience, OR MS with 8+ years' experience, OR BS with 10+ years' experience
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering
Ten (10) years of design experience in the nuclear or chemical process industry
Working knowledge of NEC, IES, NFPA, IEEE, and OSHA requirements
Experience using software (preferably ETAP) to generate electrical system calculations
Physical ability to perform weekly field walk-downs involving: walking distances over half a mile, climbing ladders, working on uneven construction surfaces, and working in protective clothing/respirator environments
Preferred Qualifications
Active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years
SRS Design Engineering or DOE facility experience
Proficiency in using MicroStation 2D Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software

Anticipated Work Schedule: 6:45am-5:15pm EST Monday-Thursday
Estimated Hours Per Year: 2080 ST, 800 OT
