Overview
The Ascendancy Group is seeking a highly experienced Senior Air Targeter to support USCENTCOM's strategic planning, targeting, and fires integration efforts. This role requires deep expertise in joint air operations, lethal and non-lethal fires planning, and coordination across Combatant Commands and interagency partners. The ideal candidate will be a graduate of a senior military education institution and possess extensive experience in air combat tactics, planning, and operations control.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Security Requirement: A Top-Secret/SCI Clearance is required
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Lead planning and coordination for lethal and non-lethal fires integration across USCENTCOM operations
• Develop briefings, point papers, and strategic guidance for targeting and fires planning
• Produce recommendations and drafts for joint system concepts, CONOPS, and fires designs
• Support continuity efforts and evaluations for combatant command-level air employment planning
• Provide specialized briefings and recommendations to USCENTCOM leadership and Component Commanders
• Organize and coordinate air/fires/targeting planning and production across task order activities
• Facilitate coordination across working groups and administrative support staff for air operations
• Manage working groups with comprehensive operational views, including analytical and statistical research
• Support development and evaluation of war games, OPLANs, contingency plans, and specialized missions
• Synchronize STO, Cyber, IRC, SAP, and other non-lethal effects into planning efforts
• Coordinate with external agencies including Joint Staff, OSD, Component Commands, and interagency partners
• Provide technical support to CCJ5 for coalition coordination and senior leader engagement
• Advise CCJ5 on JOPP, JOPES, campaign design, mission analysis, targeting, and fires effects
• Ensure smooth transition from planning to execution through situational awareness and running estimates
Position Requirements:
• Graduate of JAWS, SAMS, SAW, MAWS, or Senior Service College
• Bachelor's degree
• 10+ years of planning experience as a senior air combat tactician or air mobility expert
• Graduate of a Service tactics/weapons school
3+ years of planning experience at a Geographic or Functional Combatant Command HQ or Service Component HQ supporting a GCC
• 2+ years of experience in an Air Operations Control Center
• Exceptional strategic thinking and operational planning skills
Strong understanding of joint targeting doctrine and fires integration
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional planning teams and working groups
Experience briefing senior military and civilian leadership
• Familiarity with USCENTCOM AOR and joint operational planning processes
