Job Description

As a Security Officer - Armed Healthcare Patrol in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare and more .

As a Patrol Armed Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to create a secure environment within a healthcare location. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the facility, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to situations as they arise. You will interact with staff, patients, and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication to support a welcoming atmosphere. This armed position requires you to be attentive, professional, and ready to handle various security-related challenges that can arise in a healthcare setting. What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding appropriately to emergencies.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within a healthcare environment.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter inappropriate activity and maintain a visible presence.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and protect property.
• Observe and report any unusual activities or conditions, documenting incidents according to Allied Universal guidelines.
• Assist with access control by verifying credentials and/or assisting visitors as needed.
• Support emergency response efforts by following established protocols and assisting first responders when necessary.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance while representing Allied Universal at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must possess a valid Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
