Financial Analyst III

This position requires an active Secret clearance to be considered.

The Financial Analyst III is a mid-to-senior level professional responsible for conducting advanced financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting to support strategic decision-making. This role provides financial insights to management, ensures compliance with company policies and industry standards, and supports budgeting, planning, and cost-control initiatives. The Financial Analyst III works independently with minimal supervision and may serve as a mentor to junior analysts.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Financial Analyst III: $101,401

Pay commensurate with experience.

Financial Analyst III Responsibilities Include:
  • Develop, analyze, and present financial reports, models, and forecasts to support business strategy and operations.
  • Lead complex financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities, including variance analysis, trend identification, and scenario modeling.
  • Partner with business units and leadership to evaluate financial performance, identify risks/opportunities, and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare annual budgets and multi-year financial plans; monitor performance against established benchmarks.
  • Conduct cost-benefit and ROI analyses for business initiatives, projects, and investments.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance in financial data, reporting, and documentation.
  • Support audit processes and maintain internal controls.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior-level financial analysts as needed.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Financial Analyst III Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, or accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and variance analysis.
  • Proficiency with financial software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, complex formulas).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities with experience briefing leadership.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience in government contracting, defense, or highly regulated industries.
  • CPA, CFA, or CFM certification a plus.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence (BI) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
