Job Description
BAE Systems, a top ten prime contractor to the Department of Defense, is seeking an exceptional leader to manage and mentor a team of skilled engineers and scientists in the development of advanced propellants and processes for gun and solid rocket motor applications. As the Propellant and Process Development Manager, you will play a critical role in driving innovation and technical excellence in our organization. You will lead a high-performing team of professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to ensure the successful development of next-generation propellants and processes that meet the evolving needs of our customers.

Full-Time Salary Range: $118504 - $201457
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

As the Propellant and Process Development Manager, you will:
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and scientists in the development of advanced propellants and processes for gun and solid rocket motor applications, including high-energy, low-toxicity, and safer propellants
- Provide technical guidance and expertise to ensure successful project execution and compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
- Interface with customers, senior leaders, and cross-functional teams to drive project goals and objectives
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages technical excellence and strategic decision-making
- Lead the development and qualification of new processing equipment and facilities to support propellant production
- Bring a passion for propellant and process development to the team every day and use that excitement to engage and challenge engineers and scientists to do their best work with that same level of enthusiasm.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Typically a bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (or related field) and 8 years of relevant work experience
- Ability to influence others
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Propellant development experience
- Experience in managing people or programs
- Experience working with DoD customers
- Experience with Army gun systems
