Job Description:
Participates in systems engineering activities which include one or more of the following: Concept of Operations Formulation, Requirements Definition, Analysis and Engineering, System Architecting, System Analysis and Design, Interface and Data Architectures, Validation and Verification, System Integration, System & Op. Performance Analysis, Lifecycle Cost Analysis & Estimation, Decision Analysis and Resolution.

Job Description:
Participates in systems engineering activities which include one or more of the following: Concept of Operations Formulation, Requirements Definition, Analysis and Engineering, System Architecting, System Analysis and Design, Interface and Data Architectures, Validation and Verification, System Integration, System & Op. Performance Analysis, Lifecycle Cost Analysis & Estimation, Decision Analysis and Resolution.
SCOPE:
- May serve as sole system engineer on a small project of moderate complexity, or as a member of a team supporting a larger or more complex project.
- Independent work performed in support of systems engineering projects.
- Concept of Operations Formulation, Requirements Definition, Analysis and Engineering, System Architecting, System analysis and design, Interface and Data Architectures, Validation and Verification, System Integration, System & Op. Performance Analysis, Lifecycle Cost Analysis & Estimation, Decision Analysis and Resolution.
- Capable of providing solutions to a variety of problems that may arise in a expeditious, efficient, and timely manner.
- Work is reviewed by management to measure meeting objectives.
- Provides solutions to a variety of systems engineering problems of moderate scope and complexity.
- Decisions and achievements may have direct effect on project schedule, cost, risk.
- Interacts daily with supervisors and/or functional peer groups.
- Occasionally interacts with outside customers.
- Interaction normally involves exchange or presentation of factual information.
- May provide guidance to entry level staff
- Independent judgment is required. Directly supports systems engineering subject matter expert.
- Supports subject matter experts in developing technical and managerial recommendations that directly affect cost, schedule, and risk.
- Works under limited direction.
- Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. May determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
- Good understanding of systems development lifecycle and systems engineering role throughout lifecycle.
- Detailed knowledge of one or more of the systems engineering competencies listed above under Scope.
- Able to handle seldom and unusually occurring job events within the competency areas of detailed knowledge.
- Intermediate level knowledge of at least one customer domain
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or addition of 5 years to overall experience requirement
- Minimum 3 years experience, or 1 year with degree or certification in SE.
- Minimum 6 years general engineering experience, 5 years with Masters, 4 years with PhD.
