SALARY:
$85,737.60-$123,073.60
The Business Analyst II is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs. This role will formulate system designs to align with overall business strategies while leveraging expertise in business process reengineering, technology applications, and industry-standard methodologies to enhance organizational effectiveness.
The Business Analyst II will prepare detailed solutions including risk identification, cost and benefit analyses, and specifications required to develop or modify systems and processes to meet business goals. This position requires participation in senior-level Information Technology (IT) activities within the Business Automation and Social Services Applications (SSA) division. The role will include interpreting programmatic policies, determining impacts on automated systems, and engaging with stakeholders at all organizational levels to drive impactful system enhancements for eligibility processes and technologies.

Responsibilities
- Assists in developing and implementing continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Analyzes performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement initiatives and reports the results and recommendations to the Business Requirements Manager and Business Automation Director.
- Performs root cause analysis and the development of appropriate corrective action plans for IT systems and processes.
- Duties include providing peer reviews of business requirements documentation and coordinating technical writing and editing reviews.
- Reviews complex project deliverables such as project charters, design documentation, test plans, and risk assessment plans and provide comments and suggestions to document owners.
- Serves as the lead in producing documentation and expertise in response to internal and external audit requests as required.
- Prepares and presents complex communications and/or reports on projects, assignments, and/or activities to all levels of staff up to and including executive management.
- Other responsibilities include providing production support and technical assistance to users of SSA eligibility systems.
- Other duties as assigned .
Qualifications

- 4 Required Ability to mentor and provide consultation and direction to other Social Services Applications (SSA) staff.
- 4 Required Ability to analyze and interpret technical information including regulations, policy, and automation system documentation
- 4 Required Ability to communicate in writing, translating user/business needs into a technical style, and communicating technical instructions to system users.
- 4 Required Ability to plan and coordinate individual and group work activities.
- 4 Required Ability to detect and diagnose application problems.
- 4 Required Ability to create technical designs for solutions to problems.
- 4 Required Ability to work professionally with a broad range of stakeholders.
- 4 Required Ability to prepare concise business requirements, technical specifications documents and related artifacts.
- Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
- Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Working Conditions
- Professional office environment.
- Ability to Work on-site in Austin, TX.
- Position will be 3 days remote with 2 days (Mon & Fri) required to be onsite.
- Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
- Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
- May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
- May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
- May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.
