ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Scrum Master to join our team in Ashburn, Virginia. This is a hybrid position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • A servant leader and coach for a software development Agile team.
  • Facilitate all Scrum events, including sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives, ensuring they are productive and time boxed.
  • Coach the development team on agile principles and Scrum practices, fostering a self-organizing and high-performing team environment.
  • Helps remove impediments and fosters an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement.
  • Work closely with the Product Owner to manage the product backlog, ensuring it is refined, prioritized, and transparent to the development team.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration within the development team and with external stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging experimentation and the adoption of best practices.
  • Support the adoption of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles and practices within the team and across the program.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (Permitted experience exchange: High School and 6 years of additional experience or Associate's Degree and 4 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree)
  • Demonstrated experience applying agile principles and Scrum framework in a software development environment.
  • Familiarity with agile tools such as Jira or Confluence.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of related experience working as a Scrum Master for software development teams.
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification (e.g., SAFe Scrum Master, SAFe Agilist).
  • Experience working on government contracts, particularly within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or CBP.
  • Knowledge of CBP's mission and operational environment.
  • Experience working with large programs with distributed Agile teams.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring development teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

Clearance Requirements:
  • CBP BI Preferred
  • Must have an Active Public Trust Clearance or be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Must be a US Citizen


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
