Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems, LLC is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Senior Systems Engineer (Systems Engineer IV) to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to play a critical role in advancing mission success while working alongside a diverse and talented group of professionals committed to excellence.
The Senior Systems Engineer will support PMW 160 and Navy C4I programs by leading the transition of emerging technologies (TRL 5 and below) into fully operational DoD C4I systems. This role requires deep technical expertise and the ability to provide strategic leadership across the systems engineering life cycle, from design and integration to deployment and sustainment.
The successful candidate will ensure all solutions meet DoD standards, Cybersecurity requirements, and program objectives, while fostering collaboration among stakeholders, technical teams, and program leadership. Leveraging experience as a Senior Systems Engineer will deliver innovative, mission-focused solutions that strengthen and modernize Navy C4I capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Systems Engineer will:
* Lead the transition of low Technology Readiness Level (TRL) Information System technologies into operational DoD C4I systems
* Provide technical leadership across the systems engineering life cycle, including design, integration, testing, implementation, and sustainment
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary technical teams, stakeholders, and program leadership to achieve mission objectives
* Ensure compliance with DoD systems engineering standards, security requirements, and accreditation frameworks
* Deliver complex engineering solutions on schedule, within scope, and aligned with program objectives
* Maintain accurate documentation throughout the engineering process
Required Skills & Experience
The Senior Systems Engineer must have:
* Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility
* 10+ years of systems engineering experience supporting Navy C4I programs
* Demonstrated expertise in systems design, integration, testing, and implementation within DoD environments
* Proven ability to transition emerging technologies (low TRL) into operational systems
* Strong leadership, collaboration, communication, and documentation skills
* Deep understanding of DoD systems engineering standards, security requirements, and compliance frameworks
* Track record of delivering mission-critical solutions in complex DoD environments
Education & Certifications
The Senior System Engineer must meet the following:
Required
* Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physical Science
* CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification
Preferred
* Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
* PMP (Project Management Professional) certification

The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner, and that may include lifting up to thirty pounds, as necessary.
