Policy & Oversight Specialist (Mid-Level)

Location: Washington, DC

Description: Seeking a Policy & Oversight Specialist to support our efforts under the PRISM MATOC Task Order for the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manpower and Reserve Affairs (OASD M&RA). This role focuses on delivering business operations support and strategic planning, working closely with the Senior Policy Implementation Lead to enhance personnel policy, readiness, and financial resilience. The specialist will provide critical analysis and oversight to advance M&RA's mission through detailed operational insights.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct analysis to support business operations aligned with OASD M&RA priorities.
  • Develop strategic planning initiatives to guide operational enhancements.
  • Provide oversight of program activities, ensuring alignment with policy objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Policy Implementation Lead to integrate operational insights into broader goals.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for operational planning and oversight.
  • Evaluate program performance to identify areas for improvement and efficiency.
  • Liaise with government stakeholders to align operational efforts with mission needs.
  • Maintain currency with DoD business operations standards, protocols, and reporting requirements.
  • Support cross-functional coordination to ensure seamless execution of strategic plans.
  • Assist in monitoring and assessing compliance with operational and policy standards.

Required Experience:
  • Proven experience in business operations within DoD or federal environments, with a focus on strategic planning.
  • Strong analytical skills for assessing program performance and operational efficiency.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (including the ability to provide briefs, reports, etc., for senior leader review).
  • Experience with oversight and monitoring of federal programs to meet operational standards.
  • Capacity to collaborate with senior leadership and contribute to strategic initiatives.
  • Operational working knowledge of DoD business operations and policy systems.
  • Familiarity with DoD personnel policy and business operations systems.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Active Secret Clearance or the ability to qualify and obtain a Secret clearance.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public policy, or related field; Master's degree a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in business operations, including 2+ years supporting federal strategic planning efforts.
  • 2+ years of experience providing oversight and analysis for government programs.
