What You Will Do:

As a COMSEC Custodian with Independent Software, you will provide critical support to National Security customers in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. You will manage COMSEC materials in accordance with DoD policies, support secure mobility solutions, and assist in testing and evaluating emerging technologies such as IoT, AI, and Machine Learning.

Your expertise will directly contribute to ensuring the security of classified materials, enhancing enterprise mobility solutions, and delivering reliable support to government and national security missions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, design, and implement proofs-of-concept and trials that demonstrate mobile capabilities and emerging technologies.
  • Manage classified equipment, materials, and information in accordance with DoD COMSEC policies.
  • Securely store classified material, maintain COMSEC access lists, and limit access to authorized personnel.
  • Maintain accountability of all COMSEC material and submit required accounting reports.
  • Conduct initial briefings, debriefings, and maintain training records for users with COMSEC responsibilities.
  • Program, distribute, and maintain COMSEC devices.
  • Order, receive, load, and manage keying material using Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) and Simple Key Loader (SKL).
  • Re-key circuits as required and ensure continuity of operations.
  • Translate study findings, research results, and proofs-of-concept into proposals for operational solutions.
  • Collaborate with Government stakeholders to understand requirements and provide recommended solutions.
  • Coordinate with vendors to assess the security and functional capabilities of products and solutions.
  • Produce, review, and evaluate whitepapers and briefings for decision makers.
  • Attend client and vendor events related to mobility solutions and emerging technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of DoD COMSEC policies and practices.
  • Experience with COMSEC key management tools such as KMI and SKL.
  • Proven ability to manage classified material, maintain accountability, and execute reporting requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with government stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams.
Highly Desired Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience using mobile testbeds and test ranges.
  • Experience evaluating and providing input on industry standards related to mobility solutions.
  • Knowledge of vendor-specific implementations or deviations from industry standards.
  • Familiarity with mobility, IoT, AI, and Machine Learning technologies as they relate to enterprise and government environments.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Additional education in information technology, cybersecurity, or communications is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a COMSEC Custodian and/or 5 years of customer service experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or similar environment.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
Clearance Requirement:
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
