What You Will Do:
As a Network Configuration Management Specialist with Independent Software, you will be responsible for executing the Configuration Management (CM) process across mission-critical systems. You will ensure CM processes are well-defined, efficient, and integrated with other organizational workflows. Your role will include managing process audits, supporting change and defect tracking, and driving continuous process improvement.
This position requires strong technical documentation skills, familiarity with engineering drawings, and the ability to develop and maintain CM plans that support both technical and program objectives.

You will ensure CM processes are well-defined, efficient, and integrated with other organizational workflows. Your role will include managing process audits, supporting change and defect tracking, and driving continuous process improvement.
This position requires strong technical documentation skills, familiarity with engineering drawings, and the ability to develop and maintain CM plans that support both technical and program objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain the defined Configuration Management (CM) process, ensuring integration with all other relevant processes.
- Facilitate product reviews, change management, and defect tracking activities within the CM environment.
- Develop, maintain, and execute the CM Plan in alignment with organizational requirements.
- Monitor and report progress based on change requests, ensuring stakeholders remain informed.
- Apply a thorough understanding of CM principles to improve process efficiency and effectiveness.
- Audit configuration management activities by validating results against the established baseline.
- Report audit findings to the change manager for final review and recommendations for revisions.
- Support continuous improvement of the CM process through analysis, feedback, and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience ensuring the CM environment supports product reviews, change management, and defect tracking.
- Familiarity with or training in the use of Configuration Management tools.
- Strong understanding of CM principles, change management processes, and process improvement methodologies.
- Ability to audit and validate configuration management activities and report findings.
- Strong organizational and communication skills for working with technical teams and stakeholders.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience with technical drawings and AutoCAD or similar software.
- Thorough working knowledge of reading RFPs, blueprints, specifications, and system documentation.
- Working knowledge of drafting methods and a basic understanding of engineering drawings and principles.
- Appreciation of construction methods and schedules.
- Industry certifications in Configuration Management, AutoCAD, or related technical areas are desirable but not required.
Clearance Requirement:
- Must possess an active TS/SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
