Duties
Help
  • You will work with Launcher Operations Section Head (SP222) to establish sound logistics, maintenance, and procurement plans to ensure Operational Support for the life of the SSBN SWS Launcher Subsystem Programs.
  • You will maintain and improve programs by monitoring and analyzing performance and testing data and problem reports from production and Fleet deployment.
  • You will support the SSP planning, programming, and budgeting process for their assigned program area.
  • You will participate in, and when assigned, lead investigations into the resolution of fleet problems with the Launcher Subsystem. You will resolve and implement solutions for fleet hardware anomalies and procedural problems.
  • You will be responsible for managing the planning, evaluation and execution of Launcher Subsystem installations, test and repair during submarine shipyard availabilities.
  • You will be the authority for test documentation and, as such, chairs meetings and working groups with senior representatives of other SSP branches, Contractors, shipyard representatives and the fleet.
  • You will valuate alternative solutions of problem identified and directs corrective action(s) ensuring the best use of both government and contractor assets and funds while maintaining schedule.
  • You will be responsible for development and execution of Technical Program Management and Quality System Requirements for all Launcher Branch contracts.
  • You will lead Technical Program Management Evaluations (TPME) and Field Technical Proficiency Evaluations (FTPE).
  • You will provide required data in the assigned program area to the pertinent business managers in support of any actions to justify and defend all programs, plans, and budget to the SSP Board of Directors.
  • You will be responsible for the overall program plans and lifecycle management of the assigned launcher subsystem program areas.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the gs-13 grade level or nh-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing program plans and life cycle support control of nuclear subsytems; monitoring and analyzing contractor performance in order to identify any problems and recommend corrective action; and supporting the planning, programming and budgeting process for an assigned program.
