Job Description
BAE Systems is looking for an experienced Program Quality Engineer (PQE) who is excited to join a leading top tier global aerospace & defense enterprise as part of Controls & Avionics Solutions business area. This role is a full time, onsite position located in Endicott, NY. The PQE is responsible for ensuring seamless transition of projects through maturity phases (Proposal, Design, Production, Services, and Sustainment) and complies with BAE's established standards of quality including reliability, usability, and performance.
The qualified candidate will have strong leadership and communications skills and the ability to engage with functional representatives across all levels of the organization. A significant responsibility of this position will be to interface with external Customer Supplier Quality representatives and maintain effective relationships with these persons.

Full-Time Salary Range: $86460 - $146982

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

A significant responsibility of this position will be to interface with external Customer Supplier Quality representatives and maintain effective relationships with these persons.
In this job, you will:
- Collaborate with project and contract administration teams to review and assess BAE compliance to Customer requirements.
- Assist program teams in negotiating and tailoring contract requirements to ensure compliance with company procedures and methods.
- Support project plan/documentation development and other activities to establish the project's execution processes.
- Develop and execute the program's internal annual assessment strategy to verify the compliance of processes in accordance with the QMS and program specific requirements.
- Support the execution of Endicott's annual AS9100 audit plan, both internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with production quality engineers to monitor and perform risk mitigation activities on temperature and humidity on excursions within multiple manufacturing areas, i.e. power outages.
- Facilitate APQP/PPAP activities and build quality into the product during early life development.
- Support the maintenance and upkeep of all requisite quality records, and revision of approved quality plans and procedures to meet changing requirements.
- Own Action Tracker to ensure program remains in compliance with internal and external requirements
- Manage, track and report on customer contract deliverable items and make recommendations for improving contractual approval process.
- Create program quality metrics/presentations and provide input to support internal management and external customer meetings.
- Execute and lead of the monthly Corrective Action Boards (CAB) and Preventive Action Boards (PAB).
- Demonstrate proficiency in root cause, corrective and preventive action processes (8D methodology).
- Facilitate successful completion of Root Cause, Corrective and Preventive Actions associated with product nonconformances.
- Coordinate internal management review and approval for disposition of Corrective Action Plans associated with External and Internal Corrective Action Requests (CAR's)
- Champion Continuous Improvement activities that support the ongoing effort to reduce scrap, rework and related Cost of Poor Quality including the ability to provide data analysis support for quality and operations metrics and reporting
- Coordinate with government agency and customers on program specific request
- Coordinate and support audits and process witnessing to ensure process effectiveness and desired results.
- Resolution of any nonconformance and facilitate corrective actions associated with any audit findings.
- Ability to effectively teach/communicate quality principles and program requirements to others as required
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of relevant work experience or 2-year degree with 6 years of experience
- Strong communication and collaborative skills both within organization and the customer
- Able to read and comprehend drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Self-motivated and able to manage daily priorities with minimal oversight and direction
- Experience with a Quality Improvement Programs (Zero Defect, Lean Six Sigma, Operational Excellence, etc.)
- Experience in data analysis and use of analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- ASQ Certification: CQE/CQA/CQM
- Green Belt/Black Belt Certified
- Proficient in the creation, manipulation and interpreting of Pivot tables and data analysis
- Experience with AS9100, PPV/AS9102 FAI, AS9145/PPAP, and ESD 20.20
