Duties

  • You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (ENTARCH/SYSANALYSIS) in the READINESS REPORTING BRANCH of the FLEET INTEGRATED READINESS and ANALYSIS OFFICE (N02R) under the Executive Director (N02), United States Fleet Forces Command (USFFC) in Norfolk, VA.
  • You will serve as the Fleet Readiness Reporting Enterprise Cloud Engineer as the technical expert for the analysis, planning, design, implementation, documentation, assessment, and management of the information system infrastructure.
  • You will implement technical solutions and oversee operations on the cloud aligned to Navy Readiness Reporting Enterprise (NRRE) government policy and practices creating functional design specifications using Government reference architectures.
  • You will provide expert technical advice to Navy in the identification, isolation, and resolution of critical problems associated with reporting and collecting readiness data.
  • You will develop long-range strategies to address evolving technology requirements by monitoring existing plans and developing mechanisms to project future program developments.
  • You will ensure the integration of all systems components e.g., policy, procedures, databases, software, data center hosting, and the Microsoft Azure Government DoD cloud.

Qualifications

Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

1-Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2-Customer Service: Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3-Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4-Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

AND

In addition to your experience demonstrating the competencies above, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

*Experience applying business process engineering concepts and methods sufficient to lead/conduct studies designed to identify potential improvements in the way information technology is applied to key business functions.
*Experience developing and interpreting policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services throughout the agency.
*Experience providing expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical IT issues.
*Experience applying new developments to previously unsolvable problems, and making decisions or recommendations that significantly influence important agency IT policies or programs.
*Experience applying interrelationships of multiple IT specialties, the agency's IT architecture, new IT developments and applications, emerging technologies and their applications to business processes, IT security concepts, standards, and methods, project management principles, methods, and practices.
