PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Aircraft Mechanic II inspects, repairs, replaces, and rebuilds components including flight controls, plumbing and hydraulic units, aircraft structures, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, engines, drivetrain, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.

PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Aircraft Mechanic II inspects, repairs, replaces, and rebuilds components including flight controls, plumbing and hydraulic units, aircraft structures, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, engines, drivetrain, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Will be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records and is responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower-level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.
- Reads and interprets manufacturer's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
- Performs scheduled, unscheduled, phase, periodic, and other special inspections.
- Remove and install components such as engines, transmissions and gearboxes, fuel cells and systems, hydraulic components, and drivetrain components from an aircraft.
- Disassemble, clean, and inspect parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects according to technical manuals.
- Repair or replace defective parts and reassemble and install components in an aircraft.
- Job duties may require that the mechanic perform preflight and post-flight maintenance inspections and other miscellaneous duties to service aircraft.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position has no Direct reports but will be required to assist the team lead.
- Assist Mech III with work loading the team as well as tracking attendance as required.
- Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to solve complex problems using approved technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers manuals.
- The position requires a comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components.
- Have a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair, and knowledge of aircraft electrical systems.
- A detailed knowledge of unique aircraft tools and precision tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, and protractors is required.
- They must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedules.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a minimum of Five (5) years Aviation Maintenance Experience
- Must have experience with Army aviation maintenance forms and records.
- Must Have experience with ACN.
